I am Associate Professor (permanent) in the Department of Sociology at Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin. I am also Head of Department of Sociology and College Fellow of the Trinity College Dublin.
Previously (2013–2016), I held a position as post-doctorate senior researcher at the Comparative Life Course and Inequality Research Centre (CLIC) located at the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the European University Institute. In this position I was a member the eduLIFE project (“Education as a Lifelong Process – Comparing Educational Trajectories in Modern Societies”), which was funded by the European Research Council (ERC).
Before (2010–2013), I headed the Research Data Center of the German National Educational Panel Study (NEPS) at the University of Bamberg,located now at the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi).
I hold a doctoral degree (PhD) in Sociology (2010) and attained a university degree in business, economics, and business informatics (2004).
